Quimper

Quimper (Kemper in Breton) is a town in Brittany and the capital of the département of Finistère. The town has a population of 63,238 (1999).

Quimper is a commercial town and is famous for its pottery, especially its faience that has been produced there for over 300 years. Nowadays, the focus of the town is food processing and the related research sector. Quimper has also a port where the Odet and Steir rivers meet. Worth mentioning is the Cathedral of Saint Corentin, a Gothic cathedral, which had been constructed between the 13th and 16th centuries.[1]
