Michaelmas

Michaelmas is a feast of the Archangel St. Michael. It's a Christian feast that is celebrated on September 29 in the Western churches, and in the Orthodox Churches on November 8. Although it's called Michaelmas in the Roman Catholic Church, it also includes the other archangels Gabriel and Raphael. In the Anglican Church its proper term is the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels, to make that more clear. There also exist customs for that day, like eating a Goose on Michaelmas in England, or finding a ring in a Michaelmas pie in Ireland, which means that one would marry soon.[1]
