St. Raphaël is a city in the Southeastern of France and is located on the Côte d’Azur. It belongs to the department of Var which lies in the region of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The city has around 36,000 inhabitants.
The climate of the city is warm which is a reason for many tourists to come to stay for holidays. St. Raphaël is a very popular resort and famous for its 36km long coastline and rocks which are deformed by waves. The city is also called the French Riviera and has many famous neighborhoods like Cannes and St. Tropez. Tourists have many options how to spend their time in St. Raphaël. For example they have the choice between lots of sand or pebble beaches, can visit the small harbor or use the footpath which leads them to the volcanic mountain range of the Esterel Massif. Also in the centre of the city are many sights like the 2nd century Romanesque church, the Archaeological Museum and the old part of the city where fishermen can be seen at work. Since the 19th century St. Raphaël is a famous holiday resort.
