Back in the nineties, I interrupted family vacations to search for postcards depicting our adventures. Buying doubles let me copy crammed messages onto second cards for a vacation journal. One August, Aunt Marge treated us to a trip in the Berkshires. I'd bought eleven views so twenty-two postcards.

We ended the family time with a waffle breakfast on her screened-in porch. I joked, “Do you have a postcard of your porch?” She gave me photos of columbines, poppies, and iris from her backyard. Gradually, I bought fewer cards and took more photos. Tiny handwriting changed to size ten font notes taped on cards. With digital posts, I could write one person but share with many. Retirement and Aunt Jane's illness extended postcards to weekly messages of my forever vacation. I started a new blog, Janet of Wells Wood, for these. I cleared old Wells Wood journals from this site to make room for more vacations. No doubt the writing will evolve again. I hope you'll be along for the journey.
