Josh Meyers called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
The minutes from the May 2019 meeting and from the August Tax Rate Hearing were read. Michelle made the motion to accept the minutes from both events as read. Curtis seconded. Motion passed.
Samantha gave the Treasurer's Report which showed a total of
$51,366.41 ending May 31, 2019; $55,063.06 ending June 30, 2019; $51,677.39 ending July 31, 2019; and $48,804.00 ending August 31, 2019. Betty made a motion to accept this report and to pay all bills. Michelle seconded. Motion passed.
In July, due to an extremely heavy rain, water soaked the carpet at the front of the library building. Schinkle's of Mexico, Mo. came to extract the water from the wet carpeting. Their bill amounted to $643.50.
Since board members do not meet during the summer, Jeana contacted all members for approval to pay this charge. Five members responded in favor of paying the bill before the next regularly scheduled meeting in September. A check was written to them on August 26, 2019.
Jeana reported that there had been 269 check-outs in May; 354 in June; 295 in July; and 212 in August. A list of new acquisitions and donations was provided to all members. Jeana was able to take advantage of a program that gave her monetary credit when she purchased large-print books.
She has completed the State Circulation Report and is working on the Annual 2019-2020 report to the City of Wellsville and to the State Library.
There have been some problems with the ATT phone service agreement and Jeana is working on getting this resolved.
The Summer Reading Program was deemed a success and 14 children completed the program and were rewarded a book.
Jeana is proctoring one individual and a second person is completing paperwork to do this as well.
The Tax Rate of $.224 cents will amount to about $18,850.
Curtis moved to adjourn the meeting with Samantha seconding. Motion passed.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:57p.m.
