Overview
Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Economics and Finance is pleased to invite submissions in all fields of finance to be considered for presentations at the 2024 Wellington Finance Summit to be held on June 21st in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand.
We had been organizing this conference annually during 2017-2019. It was suspended during COVID, but we are bringing it back in 2024. As of today, we have witnessed surprisingly positive outcomes of the papers presented in our conference. Approximately half of these papers have been published in the top 3 or 4 finance journals. Please refer to the past programs and the journal placements of these papers on our conference webpage: https://sites.google.com/site/wellingtonfinancesummit/past-programs-placements
It is going to be a one-day small conference featuring one keynote speech and eight high-quality paper presentations/discussions. The goal is to bring a small group of experts worldwide to Wellington to exchange ideas in depth and in a relaxed mood. All presentations will take place on June 21st with welcome breakfast, lunch, and morning and afternoon tea provided. Then the conference concludes with a dinner for presenters and discussants in the evening.
Keynote Speaker
Stavros Panageas, who is the Robert D. Beyer ’83 Term Chair in Management and Professor of Finance at the Anderson School of Management of the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also an Associate Editor of Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics.
