Data Protection
WELLESBOURNE AND WALTON NEWS
DATA PROTECTION POLICY
To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations which came into force on 25th May 2018, the Editorial Team of Wellesbourne and Walton News has produced the following policy statement:
The Team holds contact details of the following groups of people:
Secretaries of local organisations and organisers of local events and others who supply articles for publication
Volunteers who deliver the magazine
Advertisers. We also hold records of what adverts have been paid for, how much and when the adverts are to appear in the magazine.
We use this data for the legitimate purpose of publishing and delivering the magazine to every household in the parish of Wellesbourne and Walton. The data is held on a spreadsheet and never on paper.
We guarantee that we will not pass any of this personal data on to any third party without seeking your prior permission.
We will hold the data for group one only as long as needed i.e. usually until that contact has been replaced.
For group two, the data will be deleted once you cease to be a volunteer deliverer.
For advertisers we will hold the data for three years after your last advert. This enables us to revive your advert should you wish it.
At any time you can ask to see the data we hold on you and amend/delete it as required.
If you have any complaint about the way we use your data you have the right to contact the Information Commissioners Office.
