The format is not one in which I reply to critics who have taken some of my work to pieces or even endorsed it. Rather the contributors all write on themes dear to my philosophical heart. I have, however, written a response to a challenge from Tim Williamson to non-classical logicians:- can we explain the applicability of mathematics? Below is a longer version of my reply, and an Appendix to that to boot.The book also contains a memoir somewhat shortened from my original rambling and libellous draft!

I reference in the book an extended piece Multigrade Metaphysics which is not quite complete yet and which contains a lot of the material to be used in my long overdue monograph (thank you patient OUP editors) provisionally entitled Pushing Physicalism to the Limits. With regard to Multigrade Metaphysics I had thought I'd merely to dot the 'i's in the Appendix. That in itself temps fate: working out the technicalities in more detail always brings surprises; but I have still a bit of work to do on the main material anyway. Here below are the first parts, I hope to start putting up the rest in a finite time span.
