Welcome to my site! I am Wei Fan. I am a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Economics at University College London (UCL). My research interest lies in Health Economics, Development Economics, Household Economics, and Labour Economics.

Currently, I am studying early childhood interventions, with a special interest in uncovering the mechanisms through which prenatal and infancy home-visiting programmes starting prenatally work in England and Germany.

I hold a PhD degree in Economics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, UK, and have a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Edinburgh with Distinction.

My PhD thesis mostly uses panel or longitudinal datasets in the context of developing countries, focusing on child human capital development. I have worked in Ethiopia with local policymakers at the UNICEF Ethiopia and worked as a Research Associate at the Young Lives at the University of Oxford.
