In order to highlight the characteristics of our approach, and distinguish them from the contributions of already-existing works, we have performed a comparative analysis. In Table 1, we present the diverse analyzed works fields they belong, according to their stronger features. Numbers in the first column correspond to reference numbers in our full research paper (see "About the Project" tab).
The criteria for classifying these tools were:
Web Augmentation: if the application offered the user with augmentated Web content. We have not considered those cases in which the authoring process uses this technique, but when the result of this process offers such feature.
PIM: when the resultant application empowers the user to to collect, organize, use personal information items (any kind) for achieving his everyday tasks.
Mashups: if the resultant application allow consuming data or services from different sources and present them to the user with an integrated view.
Then, as you can see in Table 2, we have analyzed each work looking for typical characteristics of each field, and some extra ones that we consider necessary to support a full Personal Web experience and are currently faced by our approach.
We report in Table 3 the percentage of features covered by the work within each field, compared against WOA's.
And we finally present some possible scenarios that WOA can face, for every analyzed work:
