Here are the steps to becoming a volunteer in Wirt County Schools. This process needs to be completed each school year that you wish to volunteer.
Complete a Volunteer Application Form
Each year, you need to complete a new form and submit it to the office of the school in which you wish to volunteer. If you wish to volunteer in more than one school, please mark the appropriate boxes on the form. The principal from the school where you submit the form will pass it on to the next principal after he or she has signed it.
You can download an application form by using the link at the bottom of the page or going to the Wirt County Board of Education website. Paper copies of the form can be obtained at your child's school office.
Complete the Volunteer Training Course
Please read all the information under TRAINING RESOURCES. Some of the information is very basic, but you will discover some things that you may not have thought about. After you read the TRAINING RESOURCES please use the QUIZ link to complete the training course.
Approval by the Board of Education
Once you have successfully completed volunteer training, your volunteer application will be sent to the Board of Education for final approval. Once approved you may begin volunteering.
