Please go to the Syllabus page for your class to print the class syllabus and information sheet that is due the first week of school.
Just like with any other classroom, there are a few rules that need to be put into place so that things may run smoothly, for safety and for general respect of the environment. Remember, it's a wonderful experience to be a part of this program and I want you to enjoy it from day one!
RESPECT the teacher (myself or a substitute), your classmates, and yourself at all times. Remember that 'Please' and 'Thank you' go a long way.
LISTEN to and follow all directions the first time they are given. Be attentive and engaged in the topic of the day.
Respect the environment - We will be working with live animals and expensive equipment throughout the program and it is vital to not disrespect the rules of these things to uphold safety and the overall experience.
No food or drink in the classroom. We do have animals that visit and we would not want them getting a hold of something that isn't good for them.
Come to class prepared with supplies and completed assignments. Assignments are due at the beginning of class. Late work will NOT be accepted and will result in a zero.
Be on time, in your seat, with work out on your desk. This means by the time the bell rings! Tardiness is a disruption to the entire class. Excessive tardiness will not be tolerated and will result in an administrative referral.
Keep all personal belongings, including bookbags and purses, on the floor.
Refrain from using profanity, vulgar language, or gestures.
ABSOLUTELY NO cell phones/ipods/electronics in class. Off and out of sight is the school board policy.
The attendance policy for the county will be followed. Make up work will follow the policy found in the student code of conduct. HOWEVER:
It is important that you are in class everyday. Much of your understanding of the veterinary industry will come from things explained in class. Missed notes must be obtained from a fellow student. I will not be placing whole power points on the website.
Any assignment due on the day of your absence is due the day you return to school.
Tests/quizzes given on the day of your absence will be taken in class on the day of your return to school. Failure to make up the test/quiz upon your return to school will result in a zero.
You are also responsible for all school and county policies. Familiarize yourself with the Student Code of Conduct Book and West Broward’s school rules and policies.
