Scout Accounts Holding Statement – Troop 53
A scout account is monies earned for the troop and held by the troop in the name of an individual scout. Accounts are funded through troop fundraising activities in which a pre-determined portion of the fundraising profits are earmarked for individual scout accounts. Funds in an account are to be used to pay for scouting activities. Should a scout leave Troop 53 with a balance in his account, the scout may request the transfer of funds to a new troop or with the approval of the Committee Chair, Treasurer and Scout Master, be used for reimbursement of scouting related items. If an account has not been active for 6 months after a scout has been inactive, all funds in a scouts account will be transferred back to the Troop as fundraising income. An inactive scout is one that is either no longer chartered or has stopped participating in scouting activities.
