The Wateringbury Parish Council had realised that the old Village Hall was very much past its sell-by-date, so in the late 1990's it was decided to start a program to replace the hall as it was no longer viable for repair. Following a community fund raising project and a lot of hard work by all those concerned, a new Village Hall was finally funded.
A lot of trouble was taken to make sure it had everything needed by such a building, after which the design and plans were approved. The splendid new Hall was built to a very high standard, and was finally opened in May 2006.
In our opinion, it is one of the most attractive, useful and user-friendly Village Halls in Kent.
The Hall is a registered charity, run and managed by local volunteers with the objective of benefiting the local community, this, through providing many facilities for the community, allows for educational, cultural and leisure activities.
It is a fine building of which we are justly proud, and we ask and need users to help us look after it. At the simplest level, this is to leave the hall as you find it i.e. clean and tidy.
