COVID-19 Rules and guidance
As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to put the following rules and regulations in place. We thank all parents/carers and pupils for following these and reserve the right to refuse admission if the following rules are not adhered to.
Pupils MUST register to attend specific classes. Group sizes have been restricted to allow adequate distancing between pupils. Any pupil arriving to a class without booking in will be refused entry. Please ensure you book to avoid disappointment.
Parents/Carers will not be permitted to enter the building*. Pupils should be brought to the entrance area at their allotted class time and must wait outside (maintaining appropriate distance between other households) until met by a member of staff. At the end of class, pupils will be taken to the exit by a member of staff. *Pre-school pupils may be accompanied by a parent/carer who will be subject to the same temperature checks and sanitiser rules. Parents/carers of pre-school pupils must stay in the studio for the duration of the class, maintaining 2m distance from any other parents and children. Face coverings are optional but recommended for parents.
Pupils will have their temperature taken by staff on entry. Any pupils with a fever, persistent cough or other symptoms will be refused entry. If you or anyone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19 please do not come to dancing.
Pupils must arrive wearing their dance clothing (washed after each use, please) and one outer layer such as a tracksuit or coat, and NORMAL OUTDOOR SHOES. Pupils must not wear dance shoes into the building but must change their shoes once in the studio. The only exception to this rule is pre-school and reception pupils who can wear their tap shoes as long as they are clean.
Pupils MUST wear shoes for all classes. No bare feet are allowed. We recommend split sole jazz shoes for modern, and we now have velcro and pull-on tap shoes. Please ensure that your child can change their own shoes, as staff will not be able to help them. This includes pre-school and reception age!
Pupils must bring their own small bottle of hand sanitiser, their own labelled water bottle and any props they may need for class.
Only water bottles will be allowed. No other food or drink is permitted inside the buildings unless medical reasons are given.
We cannot use any shared props such as musical instruments, scarves, wands, wings, pom-poms etc so if your child wants to use them in class we may be asking you to provide your own. See below for a list of items recommended.
Pupils must have a dance bag or similar, large enough to contain all of their belongings and clothing, while they are dancing. This bag should be washable. Please note we have a wide range of dance bags for sale on our uniform site.
Hair MUST be completely off the face, to avoid any unnecessary touching of the face. Of course this is already a requirement for dance classes however it is now a mandatory safety requirement and we will refuse entry to anyone with untidy hair.
Only one person may use the toilet at any one time. Please ensure younger children have been to the toilet before coming to classes, to eliminate the need during the lesson, and to avoid any accidents. Toilet facilities will be cleaned more frequently.
Contact tracing exists through our registration system Membermeister. Therefore any pupil who is not registered will not be permitted entry to classes. Click here to register.
