Founded in 1972 by Dr. Andrew Brown, the Warrensburg Community Chorus is a staple of the cultural landscape of Warrensburg, Missouri. We present two annual concerts (December and April) and participate in other community outreach activities such as Christmas Caroling in area nursing homes, performing the National Anthem at home games of the University of Central Missouri Mules, and other area cultural events.
Currently under the direction of Mrs. Cathi Truesdale and accompanied by Mrs. Anita Grigsby, past conductors include Mrs. Peggy Forstad, Mrs. Joyce Miller and Dr. Andrew Brown. Some members have been in the chorus for many years.
We perform a wide variety of choral music from Bach to blues, sacred to silly, and from Brahms to Broadway!
Our December program features songs of the season and is always fun to perform. A wide variety of choral literature may be performed at any concert.
Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Warrensburg Community Center located at the intersection of E. Gay and N. Mitchell streets, approximately half a mile east of Maguire Street (Bus. Rte. 13). Rehearsals generally begin in mid-September or mid-January and continue through the scheduled performance date.
Performances generally take place at the Warrensburg Community of Christ Church on S. Mitchell St.
Membership in the Warrensburg Community Chorus is by audition with the music director and auditions take place in early September and early January each year.
Come sing with us or attend one of our concerts soon!
