Executive Board:
President – Oversees all aspects of PTSA. Presides at all meetings of the association and the executive board.
Treasurer - Keeps an accurate account of all funds of the association including all receipts and expenditures. Signer on checks. Reconciles monthly bank statements. Update software with receivables. Prepare budget reports. Leads preparation of tax filing.
Vice President – Supports the President as needed. Fills in for the President if President is unavailable.
Vice President of Fundraising – Supervise all fundraising activities by working with chairpersons for those events. Present funding opportunities to the Board. Set up fundraising calendar near the start of the school year. Meet with fundraising chairs to address any questions they may have. Inform fundraising chairs of PTA financial procedures.
Vice President of Educational Programs - Responsible for selection and procurement for educational programs for the school including science-math-history-multicultural nights, Art Smart, Math Pentathlon, WordMasters, Math Olympiads, Science Olympiads. All activities are to be approved by staff and executive board. Scheduling is done with Principal.
Vice President of Events- Supervise all social activities by working with chairpersons for each event. Present social activities to the Board. Set up calendar of social events near the start of the school year. Oversee any school programming with the Principal.
Membership - Collect dues for PTSA from parents and staff. Maintain membership records for Michigan PTSA. Assist with distribution of school directories and membership materials. Responsible for monthly submission of all membership information to Michigan and National PTSA. Oversees directory committee.
Legislative Liaison - Attends PTSA Council meetings. Keep abreast of school district budgeting and committees. And be knowledgeable about state-wide school funding issues. Keep Warner informed of these important topics. Keep updated on important issues regarding the school district and make a report at PTSA meetings.
Recording Secretary - Responsible for production and distribution of general and executive board meeting minutes. Maintains and updates written records pertaining to local and state PTSA organizations.
Corresponding Secretary - Responsible for written and electronic communications on behalf of the PTSA, including updating the Warner PTSA website with information from the PTSA Executive Board, coordinating and approving PTSA listserv messages before distribution.
Fundraising Committee Chairpersons:
Color Run - Coordinate major Fall fundraising activity. This committee needs a minimum of 7-8 people.
Spirit wear (School Apparel Sale) – (Spring planning/Fall sale) Coordinate the sale of Warner apparel, such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, etc. 1-2 people are needed. Approval of principal will be needed.
Book Fair – Organize and oversee the Scholastic Book Fair. This sale occurs twice a year during the weeks of parent teacher conferences in the Fall and in the Spring. 2 people
Pizza Kits – Coordinate the sale of Little Caesars Pizza Kits. 1-2 people
Flower Sale – Spring sale of flats, hanging baskets etc. Organize the sale and delivery of plant materials. Coordinate with supplier. 2-3 people
Restaurant Nights – Coordinate a family dining night with a local restaurant.
Scrip Sales – Coordinate and sell the scrip from local businesses once or twice a year. These are sales of gift cards. In the past, we have used Great Lakes Scrip Center. See https://www.glscrip.com/index.aspx for more information.
Grocery Cards – Coordinate the Grocery Cards so potential families can obtain them for a profit for the school. The grocery stores are already set up. This fundraiser does not cost families anything to participate and does not promote the purchase of anything extra.
Social Event Committee Chairpersons:
Ice Cream Social - Coordinate an ice cream/popsicle event at Warner as a welcome back to school treat. Typically held in August/September. Planning begins before school starts. 1-2 people to coordinate and contact all of the committee chairs to represent their organizations.
Family Fun Night - Coordinate the planning and oversee a family social event (roller skating, bowling, game night, etc). Past events have included movie night, Minute-to-Win-It contests, and Go Green nights. It can be whatever the chairperson would like it to be, but requires principal approval. Typically one Family Fun Night is held in the Fall and one in the Spring. There can be different chairpersons for each.
Educational Enrichment Committee Chairpersons:
Art Smart Coordinator – Recruit persons and oversee fine arts program throughout the school year. 1-2 people.
Destination ImagiNation – Manage a Destination ImagiNation team for Warner.
Junior Great Books – Coordinate program information and training to parent helpers in all grades for this enrichment activity.
Math Pentathlon – Provide information and training to parent helpers in all grades for this enrichment activity and competition. See http://www.mathpentath.org/ for more information.
Math Olympiads – Manage math Olympiads practices and tests for interested Warner students. See http://www.moems.org/ for more information.
Reflections (Fall) – Coordinate this National PTSA sponsored Arts Program. 1-2 people.
Science Night (winter to early spring) – Coordinate an evening of science related activities. This can be a Science Fair, Star Gazing Night, Hands-On Science stations or a Science presentation. 2-3 people to chair.

Special Interest Fair – Coordinate a showcase of the special interests of the Warner students. Similar to Science Fair but open to more than just science. 1-2 people to chair.
WordMasters – Coordinate program information and training to parent helpers in all grades for this enrichment activity and competition. See http://www.wordmasterschallenge.com/ for more information. 1 person to chair but each participating class should have its own set of volunteers.
Chess Club – Run an afterschool chess club with the help of parent volunteers.
Other Committee Chairpersons:
Directory (Fall) – Collect data and prepare school directory to be given with PTSA memberships. Responsible for distribution. This position works closely with membership chairperson. 1-2 people.
Warner Word – Publish the school newsletter.
Staff Appreciation Week (May) – Coordinate and plan different activities for the staff, to be held at a time that works well for both staff and the PTSA. 3-4 people.
Staff Conference Dinner – Coordinate a dinner for the teachers during Fall and Spring evening conferences. 2-3 to chair
Beautification – Making the school grounds look nice.
Jr. Optimist – Coordinate various projects involving the students and the surrounding community (mitten tree, gleaners, and other charitable activities). 1-2 people
