2025 9 aside Winter Hockey Competition

Suitable for players new to hockey, returning to hockey, and current players who are 14 years + Minimum of 3 female players needed per team.

Enter by Thursday 24th April 2025 - enter all the confirmed players you have by this date. The committee will combine group and individual entries to make or add to teams with lower player numbers.

Competition Dates/Times

Thursday 1st May -26th June 2025

Games will be played between 6:30pm-8pm on the Warkworth Hockey Turf. 

Fees 

$TBC per team (expect it to cost approx $100 per player - for a 10 week comp). Managers please divide the team fee amount by the number of players in your team, and collect a team fee. To be paid as one bulk payment before the end of Round 1 on the draw. Please deduct and pay your umpire representatives $20 per game from this amount for every game umpired as per roster on the draw then pay the remaining balance to...

Draw

10 week competition - 3 Round Robins, and a Final based on Round Robin Results

Umpires

Paid $20 per game - Teams are required to supply umpires as per the roster on the Draw, (typically 2 umpires once in a fortnight) managers are responsible for paying their umpires from fees collected.

Players are to sign the team release of liability form prior to playing. See document below.

We will be using the normal 9 aside format and rules that are used in our summer competition. e.g. for mixed gender teams 3 females on the field minimum, if no goal keeper then push passes and shots on goal within the goal circle. 

As this is a social competition, we encourage players to socialize after their games using the Mahurangi Rugby Club rooms which are open on Thursday evenings during the Rugby season.
