Thank you for your interest in our Winter 9 aside Competition
The 9 aside winter comptetiton runs from the end of April to the begining of July.
It is a friendly competition for developing and capable players as well as returning players and club players. Players must be 14 years+ to play.
Game Info
Games start on 30th April and run every Thursday until the 2nd of July. Please register by the 19th of April if you are interested are playing.
Games consist of two 20 minute halves
Thursday Evenings between 6:15-8:30pm
Players must be in 14 yrs+
Mixed Gender, 9 aside teams
A minimum 3 females must be on the field at all times
Players must register to play
Players under 16 will need a parental consent form (please find below)
All players need to fill out an individual registration form, additionally team managers need to fill out the team registration form with their player list to be entered into the draw.
Teams and players must be entered by the 19th of April, the committee will combine groups and individual entires to make or add to teams with lower numbers.
Fees
Fees are due before the season begins. Amount TBC per team once we know how many teams/players have entered. (cost approx $100 per player - for a 10 week comp)
Cost to be shared among players - Manager to collect fees and make one payment on behalf of the team referenced with the team name.
Teams are to deduct and pay their umpire representatives from this amount for every game they umpire.

Draw
During the 10 weeks competition. There will be 3 Round Robin games and a Final based on the game outcomes.

Umpiring
Umpiring is expected to be shared out amongst all players.
Each team will be advised in the game schedule of the nights they are required to provide 2 umpires either immediately before or after their scheduled game time. Failure to umpire will result in points deducted for a team. Warkworth Social Hockey strongly encourage fair play and our players all support 'having a go' at umpiring.
Each umpire will be paid $20 per game they umpire from their teams fees.

Players are to sign the team release of liability form prior to playing. Please find listed bellow.
We will be using the normal 9 aside format and rules that are used in our summer competition. e.g. for mixed gender teams 3 females must be on the field at all times, if no goal keeper then only push passes are allowed within the goal circle.
We encourage players to stay around and socialise after their games either at the turf or the Mahurangi Rugby Club rooms which are open on Thursdays evenings during the rugby season.
