  • Big Bend:

    • Location: หากดูแผนที่บน GPS ตามไปด้วย เมื่อเจอลักษณะถนนที่โค้งมากๆแบบในภาพ คือ Big bend แสดงว่าเรากำลังจะเตรียมตัวไต่ระดับเขาสูงชันทันทีค่ะ ต้องไปตั้งหลักไกลๆ จะได้มีแรงส่งแบบรถไฟเหาะได้ค่ะ พอขึ้นไปปุ๊บจะเจอจุดจอดรถทันทีขวามือค่ะ เห็นรถหลายคันวิ่งเลยจุดนี้ไป แล้วเบรคฝุ่นตลบเพื่อมาจอดชมวิว อันตรายค่ะ ฉะนั้นเตรียมตัวจอดดีๆนะคะเป็นหน้าผาค่ะ ที่จอดกว้างแต่ก็เห็นรถเลยไปหลายคัน ไปกลับรถมาก็มีค่ะ

  • Mistaya Canyon

  • Address: AB-93, Improvement District No. 9, AB T0L

  • Detail: The pullout for parking at Mistaya Canyon is along the west side of Icefields Parkway and the wide gravel trail exits from the north end of the paved parking area. The easy, 0.5 KM (¹⁄₃ mile) trail descends gently for an elevation loss of 40 m (130 ft) to a fenced bridge over the narrow pot-holed gorge where roaring, frothy water churns through rock below.

  • Peyto Lake

  • Address: Park at Bow summit and hike about 15 minutes to Postcard view point (Use upper parking lot??? Get there before 9:00 am. to avoid crowd)

  • Detail: At the far end of the parking there is an information sign and wooden washroom facility that marks the start of the paved trail. It will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to hike up to the Peyto Lake lookout. It does cover some considerable elevation. Drive past the entrance to the main parking lot if anyone in your party is not capable of walking it. Follow the road up to the second lot, it is for buses and handicapped access. You can drop of member of your party here. From the parking lot the lookout can be reached via a short level trail.

  • Crowfoot Glacier

  • Direction: Next to Bow lake

  • The Bow Valley Parkway

  • Direction: From Lake Louise –on Lake Louise Drive cross over the Trans Canada Hwy where it turns into Whitehorn Drive, take the first right which is the Bow Valley parkway.

  • Distances, Hiking Time And Elevation To The Upper And Lower Johnston Falls

    • Time to reach lower falls 30 minutes, 1.1 km one way, elevation gain of 30 meters.

    • Time to reach upper falls, one hour , 2.6 km’s one way, elevation gain of 120 meters.

    • Return trip going to both lower and upper falls allow 2 to 2.5 hours.

  • Directions To Johnston Canyon

    • From Banff: head west on the Trans-Canada Hwy for approximately 5 km’s. Take the exit for the Bow Valley Parkway and continue west for 18km’s (11 miles) until you see the sign for Johnston Canyon on your right.

    • From Lake Louise: follow the Trans Canada Hwy #1 to the Castle Junction exit. At the top of the exit turn left and follow the signs to Castle Junction until you come to a T-section with the Bow Valley Parkway. Turn right and follow the signs to Johnston Canyon, approximately 6 km’s down the road.

    • Alternative route from Lake Louise: you can take the Bow Valley Parkway the entire way. It is a slower route that will add approximately 15 minutes to the drive, but offers a chance of spotting wildlife. From Lake Louise village take the overpass crossing the Trans Canada Highway. Take the first right, (Bow Valley Parkway) follow it until you get to the signs for Johnston Canyon on your left hand side.

    • Address: From Louise lake, go along on Lake Louise Dr.

    • Detail: Mid to late morning is when the mountains and the water are both lit up. As it gets later the mountains are in shadow. At sunrise you can capture a beautiful warm light on the Valley of the Ten Peaks. A wide angle lens is a must to get all of the scene in frame. (51.321742, -116.186005)
