Meetings are held alternate Wednesdays at the Kilkenny Community Centre
Whole Day: 10:00am - 3:00pm Including Workshops
Afternoon: 12:45 pm - 3:00pm
Visitors are welcome to attend two meetings with no charge.
If the decision is made to join the club, then our very reasonable subscription fee will be explained.
At Whole Day meetings home-made lunch is available to purchase at very low prices. Tea and coffee is available at Afternoon Meetings.
A Trading Table is conducted at each meeting where home-grown produce, pot plants, floral art supplies and sometimes home-baked goods are available to buy.
There is a library facility with a considerable collection of floral design magazines from which to borrow.
There is usually a three week cycle of meetings. (See below for photos). Firstly, members watch a demonstration of a design. Secondly, there is a workshop led by the demonstrator, and the third week members are encouraged to complete an arrangement at home and bring it to the meeting to be analysed by the judges.
The current program of meetings is published below.
At each meeting an experienced floral artist demonstrates a particular design or technique, with reference to the manual of the Australian Floral Art Association Inc.
Example of a demonstration:
At the meeting following a demonstration of a design, members at all levels of experience and skill have the opportunity to practise the design under the guidance of a demonstrator.
Example of a workshop:
To further develop their skills, members are encouraged to do homework on the design ready to display and have analysed at the following meeting.
