Wacky Races 2013 - Destination Ventnor, Isle of Wight

In aid of several charities - Esuubi Uganda (www.esuubi.org.uk), Sanchat Kenya (www.sanchat.org), 2 wish upon a star (www.2wishuponastar.org), St Catherine's School for Children with Speech and Language Difficulties in Ventnor (www.stcatherines.org.uk, Development Nepal (www.developmentnepal.com), 'The Cantagalo Favela Samba Escolinha' and Maggie’s (www.maggiescentres.org)

Challenges 2013:

Photo of a whole team in a rubbish skip (25 Points – extra 15 points for photos of team members planking on rubbish containers)

Photo of a celebrity doing a Gangnam Style dance with the team and get them to sign something that can be auctioned for our charities (100 Points)

Photo of the team getting groovy in a recording studio (50 Points – extra 25 points if you record your own song which can be played in the cricket club bar)

Get issued with a real parking ticket on the 19th October 2013 – bring the ticket as evidence (50 Points)

Get as many photos as possible of team members posing with men with moustaches (but not beards) throughout the day (5 Points per moustache collected – max of 50 points. Select your most impressive tache which can be entered into a favourite tache competition. The team with the winning tache will be awarded an extra 15 points)

Get a body part pierced (50 Points – extra 25 points if the piercing is on a body part other than the ears )

“Cake yourself” – video completely caking one team member in butter, flour and then eggs (25 Points – extra 10 points if you position lit candles and sing happy birthday to Evander Holyfield who is 51 today)

Photo of the whole team in a hot air balloon (50 Points – extra 25 points if it is off the ground)

Photo of a team member with a live snail on their tongue(25 Points – extra 25 points if you eat escargot served by a French Chef, video footage is needed to verify French authenticity)

Make the 3pm car ferry from Portsmouth Gunwarf Pier to Ryde for some banter and a catch up with the other teams (25 points)

In the Navy Flash Mob 3.30pm on the ferry (25 Points) – All acquire flags and village people head gear during the day and sing and dance to “In the Navy” together on the outside deck.

Find something that cost 9p (25 Points - weighed items are not accepted)

Perform a sunshine dance to ward of the rain - record a video of the team performing I'm walking on sunshine wearing swimwear in a fountain (30 points)

Film your team (extra 10 points if all team members feature) performing a rap about how awesome Wacky Races is and post it on YouTube, the team with the most hits on the event night win extra 60 points.

The whole team must visit The Chequers Pub, Watlington between 2.00-2.30pm say hello to Louise or Matthew behind the bar and buy a drink. (25 points)

Get one member of the team to swap outfits with a member of another Wacky team. (15 Points)

Take a photo of the team in a Jacuzzi (25 Points – Extra 25 Points if it is on and bubbling)

Get one member of the team in to bat for a cricket team (50 Points – Extra 25 points if they are able to score any runs

Challenges 2011:

Teams to complete as many of the bellow challenges as possible. Points shown in brackets.

• Flashmob at the 'Cock Pond' in the North East corner of Clapham Common at 12.30pm exactly. Teams to line up around the pond in silence (points docked for noise) and at 12.30 (as marked by the Panda's horn) everyone to walk clockwise round the pond twice, then disperse in silence. [25 points – whole team must be there for 12.30 start otherwise no points].
• Picture of the whole team with a weasel [25 points]
• Picture with a celebrity chef [50 points]
• Photo of the whole team in a police car [50 points]
• Video a dance routine to the hit popular record by the Black Eyed Peas: "I gotta feelin" [25 points]
• Go swimming in a lake or a river (not a pond or an outdoor swimming pool) [25 points per team member]
• One of the team to be a model in a nude life drawing class [100 points]
• Create a piece of art today and have it exhibited in an art gallery– evidence of creation and exhibition needed. [50 points] (25 extra points to the piece of art judged the best by the independent adjudicator in the evening).
• Perform a gym routine in a gymnasium [50 points] (25 extra points if the whole team wear leotards)
• One team member to eat Ox penis [25 points]
• Partake in catwalk modelling [25 points per team member to perform]
• Enjoy a drink with the Panda outside at the Perch, Binsey Lane, Oxford between 5.30 and 6pm [50 points].
• All of the team dye their hair the same colour [50 points]
• Whole team to do some synchronised swimming in a pool in women's bathing costumes [75 points]
• Arrive at Witney RFC with a live pet animal (no fish or insects) [75 points]
• Get a permanent tattoo [200 points] (extra 50 points if it's of the Wacky Races logo).
• Cook a dish in a Michelin starred restaurant [100 points]
• Get a professional modelling portfolio done and printed. [75 points]
• One team member to swap clothes with a member of the public [25 points]. 50 points if the swap is permanent. 100 points if they are in uniform and the swap is permanent.
• Photo of all of the team in one of Britain's 15 official National Parks (photographic proof required of actually being in a National Park rather than just up a hill in Oxfordshire) [100 points]
• Photo of one team member naked and totally covered in whipped cream [25 points]
• Buy one item worth 67 pence exactly (no weighed items). [25 points]
• Photograph or video 2 team members doing a 400m race on an athletics track [25 points]
• Get a celebrity (non-chef) to sign an object which can auctioned in the evening. Photo will be needed of the celebrity handing over the item to a team member. [100 points] (extra 25 points for the team whose item raises the most money through their auction prize).
• Get the whole team to take a journey on the Tube in which you pass through 10 stations in a row which all begin with the same letter (without changing trains). [75 points].
• Pre-Race Challenge: Feed a homeless person a meal. [20 points per team member to have fed a different homeless person.
• Additional 15 points for any team who buys the Panda a pint during the course of the day.

• Photo evidence of all the team in full scuba gear including tanks (50 points with extra 25 if whole team underwater)
• Get a celebrity to sign an object which can be auctioned for the Anthony Nolan Trust in the evening. Photo will be needed of the celebrity handing over the item to a team member (150 points – extra 25 points for the team whose item raises the most money through their auction prize)
• Photo evidence of the whole team on a farm vehicle (25 points)
• Photo evidence of the whole team with a live snake (25 points – extra 15 points for photo of the snake around the neck of a team member)
• Visit the White Heart pub in Beaconsfield between 2.00-2.30pm. Please sign in at the bar (25 points) and take a quiz (which if you complete 100% will earn you an extra 10 points)
• Photo evidence of a member of the team being given a fire man’s lift by a fireman (25 points)
• Buy 1 item costing 24p from a major supermarket. No weighed objects accepted! Don’t forget the receipt (15 points)
• Don’t forget the donating blood challenge. There will be an additional 20 points per team member who donated blood before 7pm on Saturday 2nd October. Photographic evidence must be provided for judging!

Challenges 2009:

• Photo and evidence of the team eating a live maggot (25 points - extra 5 each additional team member who eats a maggot).
• Photo evidence of 1 team member reaching the top of a climbing wall (25 points).
• All team members for a YMCA flash mob. Sloane Square 11am prompt. All members of the team to join in with a 2 min dance – stereo will be provided. When music stops everyone to walk nonchalantly away (25 points – you must be there for the start or no points will be awarded).
• A photo of all the team on a rollercoaster (75 points).
• Get a celebrity to sign an object which can auctioned for MDF in the evening. Photo will be needed of the celebrity handing over the item to a team member (150 points – extra 25 points for the team whose item raises the most money through their auction prize).
• Photo of 1 team member making a guest appearance for a sports team wearing that team’s full kit (25 points).
• A photo of the team with a llama (25 points – extra 15 points for a brown one).
• Visit The Lion and Lamb at Little Canfield between 2.00-2.30pm. A good chance to catch up with teams. Please sign in at the bar (25 points) and take a quiz (which if you complete will earn you an extra 10 points).
• Get Wacky Races in lights (25 points – extra 15 points if the judges are impressed by an imaginative look at this challenge).

• Get a photo of the team in a rugby scrum with a rugby team (25 points – extra 25 points for video evidence of a team member kicking a rugby ball through the posts from the 22 m line)
• A photo of a team member milking a cow (25 points – extra 25 points for a different animal being milked).
• Get a celebrity to sign an object which can auctioned for Maggie’s in the evening. Photo will be needed of the celebrity handing over the item to a team member (150 points – extra 25 points for the team whose item raises the most money through their auction prize).
• A photo of all team members in a sauna (25 points – extra 25 points if the team are naked!).
• A photo of the team with a Great Dane dog (25 points).
• Visit The Black Horse at Fulmer between 1.00-1.30pm. A good chance to catch up with teams. (25 points). If you arrive in time you can pick up a quiz and get an extra 25 extra points if you can get the answers right. Also a chance to get some lunch if you have time to spare!.
• Have a picture of a team member suspended at least 1 metre above the ground for over 4 seconds (25 points – extra 25 points if the judges are impressed by an imaginative look at this challenge).

Challenges 2007:

• Photo and evidence of the team eating jellied eels (25 points - extra 15 points for eating another delicacy deemed disgusting by the judges).
  • Photo evidence of 1 team member water skiing (50 points).
  • Get a photo of the team busking on Trafalgar Square with at least 2 instruments (25 points – extra 25 points if you get a photo of two random people doing air guitars) Please collect any money for Parkinson's!
  • A photo of team members punting (25 points – extra 25 points if you can get a Japanese tourist in your punt).
  • Get a celebrity to sign an object which can auctioned for Parkinson’s Disease in the evening. Photo will be needed of the celebrity handing over the item to a team member (150 points – extra 25 points for the team whose item raises the most money).
  • A photo of all team members with a Beefeater (not the restaurant chain!) (25 points).
  • A photo of the team with a Chihuahua (25 points).
  • Visit The Langley Hall Inn at World’s End between 2.00-2.30pm (not Chelsea!). A good chance to catch up with teams and have a drink. (25 points). If you can solve the riddle at the bar (25 extra points). Last orders for food are 2.30pm if you want to make it a lunch break.
  • Have a picture of one of your team members on a steam train (50 points).

Challenges 2006:

• Photo and evidence of the team eating the delicacy chicken feet (25 points - extra 15 points for eating another delicacy deemed disgusting by the judges).
• Photo evidence that the team went 300ft underground (25 points – an extra 10 points to the team who traveled the furthest).
• Get a team photo at the Temple Church featured in the Da Vinci Code. Find out the date when the Church was consecrated. (25 points).
• Photo of your team wearing bondage gear (25 points - extra 10 points for any weird and wonderful apparatus!).
• Photo of a team member giving a celebrity a high five (100 points - extra 50 points if it is a member of the royal family – no distant cousins allowed!).
• A photo of all team members inside a helicopter (50 points).
• Convince a punter on the street to swap clothes with at least one team member (25 points – extra 10 points for more than one clothes swaps).
• Visit The Langley Hall Inn at World’s End between 2.30-3.00pm (not necessarily Chelsea!). A good chance to catch up with teams and have a drink. Find out the names of their three dogs. Get a photo with at least one of the dogs (50 points).
• Have a picture of one of your team members with three of the African Big Five (obviously without entering the animals enclosures!) (50 points).
• Buy 1 item costing 83p. No weighed objects accepted! Don’t forget the receipt (25 points).

Challenges 2005:

• Do a synchronised team swim in the sea. Photographic evidence is needed of at least 3 synchronised swimming display moves (50 points - an extra 10 points for each random punter that joins your swimming team).
• 1 team member must pole dance on a fire station pole (25 points).
• Convince 2 members of the public at a bed store to get into bed (and under the covers) with at least 1 team member (25 points).
• Get a photo of at least 1 team member in a location which is over 100 metres above the ground. Please bring evidence of the height of the location. (25 points - an extra 25 points will be awarded to the team who reach the highest point).
• A photo of each team member touching a different type of farmyard animal (50 points).
• Find a pub outside the M25 called ‘The Bell’ - get a photo of your team outside the pub and proof of address (25 points).
• Buy 1 item costing 61p.No weighed items accepted! Don’t forget the receipt (25 points).
• A photo of 1 team member eating a frogs leg (amphibian not tourist!) (50 points).
• Get a photo of a celebrity kissing the cheek of a team member (it cannot be an old photo!) (100 points - only 50 points for a soap star!).

Challenges 2004:

• Find a pub outside the M25 called the Queen’s Head - get a photo of your team outside the pub and proof of address (25 points).
• Photo of a member of the team being a mannequin in a shop window (50 points - an extra 25 points for exclusive well known stores).
• Buy one item that costs 71p - no weighed items accepted!!! Don’t forget the receipt (25 points).
• Photo of someone aged over 65 in the team car - you will need to provide their name, age and hobbies for the judges (25 points).
• Photocopy of a cleavage (25 points - there will be an extra 10 points for all male teams who achieve this!).
• Photo of your whole team in a limousine (50 points).
• Photo of your team wearing arctic clothing and ski gear (40 points and an extra 10 points for boots and skis).
• Photo of a member of your team giving a policeman a piggyback ride (40 points).
• Photo of a member of your team with a celebrity (100 points).
• Photo of a member of your team with at least five pigeons feeding off their body (40 points).
