The Wacky Races is a team treasure hunting event in the UK. Each team has a different fancy dress theme and of course a vehicle of any description to reach the final destination.
Wacky Races is having a little break...but not forever!
Wacky Races 2013 raised £2,750 for several charities: Esuubi Uganda (www.esuubi.org.uk) - to buy beds and mosquito nets for one of the new boarding houses for orphan children, Sanchat Kenya (www.sanchat.org)- sports equipment, toys, pens, pads and wind up torches, 2 wish upon a star (www.2wishuponastar.org) - memory boxes in all the A and E departments of the hospitals in South Wales by the end of the year, St Catherine's School for Children with Speech and Language Difficulties in Ventnor (www.stcatherines.org.uk) - music equipment to support the children in performing and composing, Development Nepal (www.developmentnepal.com) - Project Ujyalo Bhabisya (meaning ‘A Brighter Future’) - will help pay for one full time community motivator for one community for 4 months, 'The Cantagalo Favela Samba Escolinha' (it's a percussion group project for young kids to teach them the basics before they go onto the proper samba schools) and Maggie's Oxford (www.maggiescentres.org/oxford) - our collecting tins raised money for a Getting Started workshop at a Maggie's Centre.
Over the last 10 years we have a raised over £37,800 for charity.
