Prof. V. Ravichandran is currently serving as Professor at the Department of Mathematics at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and M.Phil. degrees from National College, Tiruchirappalli, and received his Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai.
His academic career reflects a strong commitment to teaching, research, and the advancement of mathematical sciences. His career began as a Lecturer at SVCE in 1996. He was a Visiting Post-doc/Senior Lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia during 2004-2007, and later, he held Visiting Professor position there in 2011-12.
He joined as Reader at University of Delhi in 2007 and appointed there as Professor in 2014. He served as the Head of the Department, Department of Mathematics, DU from December 21, 2015 to April 12, 2018.
Dr. Ravichandran has authored more than 250 research papers, with more than 50 co-authored with Prof. Dato' Indera Rosihan M. Ali from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
He has written textbooks on complex analysis (published by USM Press), univaent functions, real analysis, PDE and discrete structures (all four published by Springer).
Additionally, he has supervised 25 Ph.D. and 9 M.Phil. scholars, and he is currently guiding 4 scholars for their Ph.D. degrees.
He serves as an editor for the Bulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society since 2004, as well as for The Journal of the Indian Mathematical Society, Journal of Analysis, and Ganita. He is also an Associate Editor, University Texts in the Mathematical Sciences, Springer.
He is a reviewer for Mathematical Review, published by the American Mathematical Society, and for Zentralblatt Math, published by the European Mathematical Society.
He has reviewed around 100 papers for the latter. Moreover, he regularly acts as a referee for several journals.
Prof. Ravichandran has been using LaTeX since 1993 and is always willing to train others in this excellent typesetting software.
However, he is not fond of traveling.
