About Me
I am an Associate Professor of Managerial Accounting at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
My research focuses on incentives.
I study the impact of various types of incentives within organizations—both explicit and implicit, monetary and non-monetary—on employee behavior. Within this context, my research also delves into performance measurement and the provision of information.
To examine causal effects and precisely identify mechanisms, I primarily use field experiments in firms. Often, I complement this with laboratory experiments, online experiments on MTurk or Prolific, survey data, or archival data.
My work has been published, for instance, in the Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, The Accounting Review, European Accounting Review, and Harvard Business Review. My work also receives attention in the public media with publications in, for instance, the Economist, Financial Times, FAZ, Die Welt, Capital, and Harvard Business Manager.
