I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at New Mexico State University (NMSU). Before joining NMSU, I was a visiting assistant professor at Oakland University (OU). Earlier on, I had an opportunity to work with Prof. Leman Akoglu as a postdoctoral researcher at Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). I obtained my Ph.D. from the School of Information Systems at Singapore Management University (SMU). My Ph.D. advisor was Prof. Hady W. Lauw. I hold M.Eng and B.Eng degrees from the University of Technology, where I was supervised by Prof. Tru Cao. My research interests are in data mining and machine learning, with a focus on text mining, visualization, and graph mining.
