Hello, my name is Vincent de Gardelle, I am a CNRS researcher, at the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne, and Paris School of Economics. I am also director of the RISC (Relais d'Information sur les Sciences de la Cognition).
My research is mostly about confidence in our decisions, and metacognition (the ability of individuals to monitor and regulate their own cognitive processes). I also work on cognitive biases, that might impact our decisions or our confidence in these decisions.
To investigate these topics, I use mostly behavioral experiments and computational models, in various settings (e.g. in the laboratory or online, with "normal" participants or with experts in particular fields).
This research is interdisciplinary and combines a wide range of methods, from sensory psychophysics to experimental economics or social psychology, with neurophysiological data (fMRI, EEG, pupil recordings) at times also.
