Hello, my name is Vincent de Gardelle, I am a CNRS researcher, at the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne, and Paris School of Economics.

I am interested in decision-making and metacognition, which is the ability by which individuals can monitor and regulate their own cognitive processes. For individuals navigating in a hazardous environment, for companies competing in complex markets, good decisions are essential to survival. Assessing one’s own decisions, which is a simple form of metacognition, might be an important aspect to regulate behavior. As such, metacognition is also becoming an important topic in cognitive sciences.

To investigate these topics, I work mostly with behavioral experiments and models, using tools ranging from sensory psychophysics to experimental economics and social psychology, with some neurophysiology occasionnally. And of course, above all I work with people.
