The strange story of a young woman who, closed into a little room, gives birth to a dog.

A story about the creation, the sense of motherhood and about the existence.

The film “MATER” has been made again in collaboration with the drawings

by Paolo Bonfiglio and the music by Mick Harris.

The plot, made of few ordinary repeated actions,

can be interpretated in different ways owing to its great ambiguity.

The central theme, considered both as an artistic attitude or as a natural consequence of an earlier event,

is the creative act, but the absurd result of this conception brings to a tragic ending.

The film “MATER”, consisting of more than 150 drawings,

does not want to tell a story but it is a strict representation of the deep impulses of the human soul.

The film "MATER" won the first prize of the international contest "Fiac Show Off: Arts Numériques", Paris 2007
