The Music Room is F1014
To book practice time in the music room or to reserve an instrument you need access to to the calendar below. You get this by emailing the Secretary, President or Vice-President. NB gmail, hotmail and yahoo addresses work better with the calendar than some VIC addresses.
Your booking must show your name and telephone number. Please familiarize yourself with all the Music Room and Instrument Rules in the file attached below. In particular, you should note the following:
Individuals may not book for more than a month ahead and for only one hour in advance. If on Monday slots remain vacant, you may book an additional hour in that week. Ensembles which reserve a weekly slot for a whole year must cancel when not able to use it.
No-one should practice from 8.00 a.m.- 12.00 and 2.00 - 5.00 p.m., unless you are making very quiet music or using electronic equipment with headphones. One-hour bookings at lunch time must start at either 12.00 or 1.00. Bands using drums and bass are also requested to only rehearse in the evenings. Keys for the room and upright piano are kept in the key safe next to the Security window on F0E and must be returned promptly after your session. In order to be able to access the key safe, you first need to register with the key service in room FOE17 (open from 8.00 – 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 – 2.00 p.m.).
To arrange to use the grand piano, or borrow the upright for an event elsewhere in the building, you must contact the President or Vice-President and fill in a form. Forms must also be completed for logging purposes before other equipment is used other than in the Music Room. (see Music Room and Instrument Rules).
