9-1 VIAAA AND VHSL RELATIONSHIP
9-1.1 As a service to the VHSL, the VIAAA provides
A. The Executive Director will serve on the VHSL Hall of Fame Selection Committee
B. Advice on the latest trends and/or problems in interscholastic activities.
C. Recommendations on proposed VHSL legislation.
D. Directors for most VHSL District, Regional and State culminating events.
E. Assistance in preserving the educational nature of interscholastic athletics and the place of these programs in the curricula of VHSL member schools.
F. Nominations or recommendations of nominees for the Virginia High School Hall of Fame.
9-1.2 As a service to the VIAAA, the VHSL provides
A. A staff liaison to serve as an ex-officio member of the VIAAA Board of Directors.
B. Reports proposed legislation and action of the VHSL Executive Committee and reports of other League committees that pertain to interscholastic activities.
C. Staff members to serve as speakers for the Annual Conference, and special school, district and regional activities.
D. Distributes information on membership, Annual Conference, nomination forms for special VIAAA awards, the National Federation’s Conference of High School Directors of Athletics, and other special requests.
E. Mailing of VIAAA and NIAAA membership invitations and other printed materials to all VHSL member schools.
F. Nominations of members for national honors and/or committee appointments by the National Federation.
G. Publicity in THE LEAGUER for members who are recipients of State and/or National Awards.
H. The opportunity to conduct a 50-50 raffle at the League’s fall and spring meetings.
I. Listing in the VHSL DIRECTORY as the recognized state association for athletic administrators.
J. Acceptance of current membership card for admission to VHSL State events.
9-2 VHSL LIAISON
9-2.1 Statement of Purpose – To have one VHSL staff liaison to serve as an ex-officio member of the VIAAA Board of Directors.
9-2.2 Job Description
A. Reports proposed legislation and action of the VHSL Executive Committee.
B. Informs the Board of Directors of other committee reports that pertain to interscholastic activities.
