Learning Resources

Students will often immediately want to pick up their tools and materials and start building robots. This may be the most active and fun way to get started, but it is not the best path. In this course, you will learn a series of steps that make up the design process that are integral to ensuring the success of the robots.

GOAL: The last section of each unit is titled Engineering Notebook. You should be able to answer the questions in this section.

It includes in-depth programming lessons for ROBOTC, multi-faceted engineering challenges, step-by-step videos, robotics support material, educational resources, and more.

GOAL: You should be able to understand the concepts. Learning the syntax of programming language is not required.

You can use Inventor to design and build your VEX robots. Digital Prototyping with Inventor enables robotics teams to test a robot design before it’s built, identify potential design flaws and make corrections early in the design process, greatly reducing time spent on the physical build.

GOAL: Install this software and learn how to use it. You will be designing your robot for the tournament using this CAD tool.
