Starting back in the early 1800`s when whirligigs first appeared in America, they were depicyed as "comical weathervanes". Swinging in the direction of the wind the whirligigsspeed raises and lowers with the strength of the wind.

Pine Shop Woodcrafters was established in 1989 and continues to reproduce this early American craft for you to enjoy.

Our whirligigs are made of the finest clear cut pine logs and each and every part is handmade. Even the crankshaft itself is bent and threaded by hand. All wooden components are hand traced and cut on the band saw one piece at a time to assure that you receive the finest grade of pine thus giving you the best balance for your hand crafted whirligig. Each piece is hand sanded, then hand painted by our own artists with the highest quality paints for years of durability in all four seasons
