welcome to the strea:m lab website!

 strea:m stands for self-transcendence, self-regulation, self-awareness as mindfulness

We are interested, as the name implies, in mindfulness broadly conceived, that is, as system of self-awareness, that, via self-regulation, can lead to self-transcendence. We study mindfulness both as a trait and a state and, when we can, try to find ways to increase (and perhaps steer) it. Thus, we see mindfulness not just as a contributor to individual flourishing, but also as related to the common good.

Historically, we have studied basic aspects of cognitive aging, using both experimental methods and meta-analyses, and have also been doing work on rumination, mood disorder, and creativity.

Who knows what we will be doing five years from now? (Not us.)
