Welcome to my personal web page.
I am currently working as an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management at the Southampton Business School, University of Southampton.
I studied economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business in Greece and I hold a PhD from the Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Essex. My teaching and research focus on understanding and explaining how labour market and workplace institutions shape (and/or are shaped by) the work experiences of employees, the performance of organisations, and the comparative standing of national labour markets. I am also serving at the Editorial Board of Work, Employment and Society, and I am co-director of the Work Futures Research Centre here at Southampton.
I am the Module Leader for Ideas 1 and European Labour Markets. I am also supervising the dissertation projects of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Prospective PhD students: I am interested in supervising PhD students on topics related to the link between labour market institutions and the comparative outcomes of people, organizations and/or countries, the determinants and impact of job quality, and the implications of trade union activity for employee behaviour and organizational performance. Some of these research themes can be co-supervised with Dr. Guy Vernon. Please apply through the formal process of the Southampton Business School. Informal enquiries via email are also welcome.
