Typically, I give another the opportunity to tell his or her story including how he/she was perceived by others. It is important to listen to another's stories that relate to family, educational and work settings, parallel to the timeline of his/her life. The views that a person has of him / herself can be flattering, undermining, or both. Listening to those views which shape a person’s perception of him / herself leads to greater self-understanding and empowers another to make good decisions. My goal is to enhance a person’s clarity, uncover deeper strengths and gifts, while co-creating a new story which is valid and a truer representation of who he or she is. Often forgiveness is a component of this process and empowers another to move through depression and low self-esteem to an identity that is richly creative.
