Venice Without Obstacles Accessible Website
The team developed an accessible website that serves as a repository for all of the accessibility data that was collected and as a tool for people traveling with disabilities who are planning a trip to Venice.
Interactive Accessibility Map
This interactive map can be used to search for specific bridges and islands throughout the city and includes filters for accessibility data points of each bridge. With the accessible vaporetto/motoscafo stops and bridges filtered, the team was able to determine the islands that were accessible by land and water transportation.
H3 Tactile Maps
The purpose of these tactile maps is help people with visual impairments learn more about the history, architecture, and significance of the H3 building. The top tactile map depicts the first floor of the H3 building and provides a brief description of the history of the building's architecture. The bottom tactile map is a braille tactile map that depicts plans of the H3 building’s three floors. Both tactile maps display QR codes containing MP3 recordings to provide visitors with information about the history of the H3 building, the history of the Venice Project Center, and information about SerenDPT. The MP3 recordings are provided in English and in Italian.
Restaurant Accessibility Map
This map pinpoints the locations of accessible and inaccessible restaurants on Giudecca.
Hotel Accessibility Map
This map pinpoints the locations of accessible and inaccessible hotels on Giudecca.
Church Accessibility Map
This map pinpoints the locations of accessible and inaccessible churches on Giudecca.
Museum Accessibility Map
This map pinpoints the location of the accessible museum on Giudecca.
H3 Temporary Ramp
The team purchased a temporary ramp to assist people with motor impairments with entering and exiting the H3 building. The temporary ramp is lightweight, durable, and can be easily folded for storage, since the ramp will only be used when a person with a motor impairment would like to enter or exit the building.
