I see time as pulsing, weaving, slipping and sliding briefly a still surface but mostly a constant current, now going slow and then rushing, moving alongside the times of other things and beings, touching and influencing each other and yet staying separate. I have used the line to describe the cadence of time. The line is also an indrawn breath and an outward breath - a thread of concentration and a means of continued focus. Every line is a complete journey but is only a thread in the infinite fabric of time.
Each canvas has a watermark (sometimes two) of a set of six circles which represent the clock movements which try to measure and pin down time. Since six circles can be nested in a total of 48 distinct ways without intersecting each other, there will be a total of 48 works in this series, each with a distinct arrangement of circles which are topographically different from the others. Each work records my existence in my time and acknowledges the existence and influence of others.
Works are acrylic on canvas of varying dimensions.
