Dr. Chrysovalantis “Valantis” Vasilakis
Associate Professor in Economics, Finance & Predictive Analytics
Welcome to my academic webpage.
I am an applied economist, accountant, and mathematician whose work lies at the intersection of econometrics, finance, accounting, mathematical modelling, and public-policy analysis. My research examines how economic behaviour, financial decisions, institutional structures, and emerging technologies shape outcomes in immigration, labour markets, regional inequality, sustainability, taxation, and corporate decision-making.
I currently serve as Associate Professor in Economics, Finance, and Predictive Analytics.
I am also affiliated with:
IRES – Institute of Economic and Social Research, UCLouvain
IZA – Institute of Labor Economics
LISER – Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research
Within my School, I serve as Chair of Ethics, leading initiatives to strengthen research integrity, enhance reviewer training, and improve internal evaluation processes.
My work has been supported by competitive grants from the British Academy, the Welsh Development Bank, and the Royal Economic Society, and includes award-winning research recognised by EURO. I have contributed to public policy debates through evidence submitted to the UK Parliament Welsh Affairs Committee, and collaborate on projects examining globalisation, inequality, and populism across Europe.
