MUM
Mum was a beautiful caring woman who was an inspiration to me and made me the person I am
today.
Her love for her children was unconditional and had no boundaries.
Mum would do everything for her children she would take us camping and fishing as Dad would
rather stay at home watching his beloved Hawks on TV.
Mum was a very devote Christian and as young children we had to go to church every Sunday and
attend Sunday School. As teenagers we rebelled and Mum said we could stop going to church once
we turned 15. Once my sister turned 15 she turned up to Church one Sunday dressed in leathers
with knee high boots on the back of a motorbike. She did not have to go to Church again after that.
I remember one day some Jeovah Wittness’s visted our home. They said something to Mum and
Mum no that is wrong and she invited them inside and got out her bible and showed them what
they had said was wrong. She then proceeded to preach to them for the next 2 hours. For some
reason we never had visits again from the Jeovah Witness’s.
She also loved her music and was an accomplished pianist and achieved the second highest grading
of the Australian Music Board. This love of music was passed onto her children and her daughter
and me both learnt the piano from a young age. One of my biggest regrets was giving up the piano
about the age the of 14.

Mum was also an active sportswoman in her younger days and loved watersking, playing tennis and
table tennis.
As I got older Mum and I used to have some interesting conversations the only times we had
disagreements was over politics and relgion. Dad was and is always a staunch Labour supporter
and so was Mum but it was not until I got older and formed my own views and this made for some
interesting discussions at home.
As I have mentioned earlier mum was a very devote Christian and I believe she is in Heaven with
God.
Mum, Your kind words of encouragement, Your soft and gentle touch. Your devotion to our family.
Made me love you very much.
