I am co-founder of PerfectBit (https://perfectbit.ai), where I work on verified training data for frontier AI models.
Before PerfectBit, I was a Research Scientist Manager at Meta, leading Media GenAI R&D across image and video foundation models. My recent work includes Emu, Emu Video, Emu Edit, Movie Gen, video editing, and character-consistent media generation. Earlier at Meta/Facebook, I led work on efficient computer vision and on-device AI systems for mobile and AR/VR, including Detectron2Go, FBNet, neural architecture search, hand tracking, 3D photos, and mobile inference.
Before joining Facebook, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor in Professor Bernd Girod's group at Stanford University from 2012 to 2014, working on multimedia systems and mobile visual search. From 2007 to 2012, I was a research assistant and Ph.D. student in Professor Touradj Ebrahimi's group at EPFL, where I worked on multimedia analysis and search. I received my M.Sc. in Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2006 and a Program Designer Mathematician degree from Eotvos Lorand University in 2007.
