2017 Sri Ramanavami Brahmotsavam Day 1 - Dwajarohanam

Sri Ramanavami Brahmotsavam is celebrated at Vaduvur Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple from Apr 4 - Apr 13, 2017.

On Day 1, Apr 4, 2017,

Morning - Dwajarohanam (flag hoisting) was performed followed by special alankaram and tiruveedhi ula (procession). Dwajarohanam is a flag-hoisting festival that is held on the first day by hoisting a flag (Garudadhwaja) with a picture of Garuda (vehicle of Lord Maha Vishnu) on the top of the Dwajah Sthambham in front of the sanctum sanctorum. It is said to be a symbolic significance of formal invitation to all the deities to attend the Brahmotsavam festival

Evening - Special Alankaram and Thiruveedhi Utsavam of Sri Ramar, Sita Pirati and Sri Lakshmanar
