Getting Started
When is a good time to get started?
Like most Cub Scout Packs, we go year-round. You can become a scout at anytime. Just contact our Cubmaster or the Den Leader in your age group - or, just show up at one of our meetings.
If you have an interest in learning more about our Pack, if you have questions, or if you are ready to get started, please click here and fill out our online form. It only takes a minute and we will contact you shortly.
When do we meet?
Pack Meetings are normally held once per month and all of our scouts (Kindergarten-5th grade) get together in the same place. The meeting is normally led by the Cubmaster. Keep an eye on the calendar for the date. You are welcome to stop by if you are considering joining the pack. We gear the meeting towards the kids and the goal is to have fun and recognize them for their recent accomplishments (with awards, pins, loops, badges, and whatever else we dream up).
Den Meetings (when just one age group meets - with the Den Leader) are held normally on Mondays or when an outing is scheduled. These start at 6:15 with us meeting in the church's gym (same place as pack meeting) for a quick opening before the Scouts go with their Den Leaders.
What is the Cost of Joining?
First - don't let the cost scare you off, our Pack is able to assist if you need help. The person to see about assistance is the Committee Chair. This will be kept between you and them but you can tend to that later. There is also the option of participating in annual Fundraising to get the cost covered.
Second - The annual fee is under $300 and the appropriate handbook is around $40.00. A new uniform runs around $50.00 (depends) but the shirt is good for several years, so uniform cost is one time unless items need to be replaced or you Cub Scout reaches the Webelos rank.
We are not worried about the fees being paid up front. We can work with you. Please don't let the cost get in the way of your decision.
The first thing these costs cover is the National registration fee. In order for your scout to officially earn badges and ranks they must be registered through our Council. We take care of this once the paperwork is handed over or if the form is filled out online. Next, the costs cover our ceremonies (ranks and badges) food at events, and other event/outings we do throughout the year.
