Personal Information

I am a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, and an affiliated Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Fudan University, Shanghai. Previously, I earned my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, advised by Prof. Chin-Hui Lee and Prof. Xiaoli Ma for Speech, Language, and Signal Processing research. Before academia, he was a Research Software Development Engineer in the Deep Learning Technology Center at Microsoft Research, following a Master's in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.

My current research focuses on (1) Quantum Machine Learning Theory, an interplay between Machine Learning and Quantum Computing, which includes leveraging quantum algorithms to revolutionize machine learning architectures and utilizing Artificial Generative Intelligence to support Noise-robust Quantum Computing advancements in fields of Scientific Computation (e.g., Materials, Genomics, and Life Sciences); (2) Tensor Network Optimization, which seeks parameter-efficient tensor representation and low-rank tensor network adaption for efficient machine learning computing.
