I am a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong. Previously, I earned my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I was advised by Prof. Chin-Hui Lee and Prof. Xiaoli Ma in Speech, Language, and Signal Processing. Before entering academia, I worked as a Research Software Development Engineer at Microsoft Research's Deep Learning Technology Center, following a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.
My current research focuses on Quantum Machine Learning, spanning three primary directions: (1) Variational Quantum Computing: Integrating machine learning theory with tensor network methods to achieve scalability, trainability, and noise resilience in quantum systems; (2) Quantum-Enhanced Machine Learning: Developing parameter-efficient fine-tuning strategies for large language models inspired by quantum principles and tensor networks; (3) Quantum Error Correction: Designing AI-driven correcting codes for quantum error resilience and noise mitigation. Collectively, the interdisciplinary approach bridges quantum physics and modern machine learning to transform computational paradigms in both quantum and classical domains.
