I am a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong. Previously, I earned my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I was advised by Prof. Chin-Hui Lee and Prof. Xiaoli Ma in the area of Speech, Language, and Signal Processing research. Before entering academia, I worked as a Research Software Development Engineer in the Deep Learning Technology Center at Microsoft Research, following a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.
My current research concentrates on two key areas: (1) Variational Quantum Computing, integrating machine learning theory and tensor network renormalization methods to enhance scalability, trainability, and noise resilience in quantum computing systems; (2) Quantum-Enhanced Machine Learning, providing new insights into parameter-efficient fine-tuning strategies for large language models inspired by quantum principles and tensor network techniques. The interdisciplinary approach bridges quantum physics and modern machine learning to transform computational paradigms in both quantum and classical domains.
