The UUlations first CD, "When Music Sounds" was recorded at the Chapel of Saint Anne on Claremont Street in Arlington, MA. This Norman style chapel on the grounds of Bethany House of Prayer was designed by architect Ralph Adams Cram.
Cram was most famous for his Gothic Revival style, and served as supervising architect at Princeton University from 1907 to 1929 where he designed many buildings, including the Princeton University Chapel.
The Chapel of St. Anne, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, was built in 1915 with fieldstone from the surrounding grounds and has a simple rectangular plan with a rose window in its northern wall. The warm and inviting acoustics of the chapel are well suited to women's voices.
The UUlations thank Bethany House of Prayer for the opportunity to record in this historic chapel and encourage those inclined to attend Contemplative Evening Eucharist at Chapel of St. Anne at 7pm on most 3rd Wednesdays of the month during the school year or one of Bethany House of Prayer's other offerings.
