The name UUlations alludes to the words celebration and elation
while expressing the group's connection to the Unitarian Universalist Church.
All the members attend the First Parish UU Church in Arlington, MA,
and the UUlations originally formed to participate in church activities.
The name also references ululation, which is an undulating cry of celebration or lament
performed usually by women in Arabic and African cultures.
