What is Brave the Shave?

Brave the Shave is S.M.I.L.E.’s annual shave event benefitting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The foundation donates funds to researchers in the field of pediatric oncology so they can continue working on the cure for childhood cancer. Each year in April, volunteers sign up to be a shavee, shaving their heads in solidarity of those fighting cancer. By shaving, they will let the world know that bald is beautiful! In the months leading up to the event, shavees and our committee members raise money to donate to St. Baldrick’s. The shavees will each be personally fundraising, independently of our organization. However, they will be fundraising for the shaving, which will happen at our event.
