Welcome to the USS Bayfield's web site. On the following pages we will introduce you to our ship and it's crew. It will be from her Coast Guard days landing the US Army troops on "D-Day at Utah Beach, Normandy" to landing the US. Marines at Iwo Jima and other Pacific Islands.

Next, manned by a Navy crew she was at Bikini Atoll for the "A" bomb tests. She served on China station in support of our Marines and Nationalist Chinese Forces. She was called from PhibLant for Inchon when Korea broke out in war. All her deployments will be covered on this site.
