The Gamma Eta Alumni Association is having its 6th Annual Summer Social on Saturday, June 24th at Casa Escobar in Santa Monica. We've reserved space for a sit down dinner at 8pm, but plan on getting to the bar at 7pm for a cocktail hour. It will be a group dinner and a cash-bar, so please plan accordingly.
This event marks the beginning of our seventh year of activity! Please continue to support the GEAA with a $20 donation (or any amount!) which goes directly toward paying fees to register as an official alumni association with PIKE Nationals. The Gamma Eta Alumni Association is having its 5th Annual Summer Social on Saturday, June 18th at Casa Escobar in Santa Monica. We've reserved space for a sit down dinner at 8pm, but plan on getting to the bar at 7pm for a cocktail hour. It'll be a cash-bar & group dinner, so please plan accordingly. With the Trojans still in the hunt for the Pac-12 Championship, it's over-due that we have a good old fashion PIKE Alumni gathering to watch the game. It's the prime-time 5pm spot, so we're planning on grabbing a big booth/table at Rock&Reilly's on Sunset in West Hollywood and go from there. The upstairs at 938 was unfortunately unavailable. For those interested, RSVP with me today so I can get a headcount to lock down enough space. Look forward to seeing you all there.

The Gamma Eta Alumni Association is having the 4th Annual Summer Social on Saturday, August 9th at Cha Cha Chicken in Santa Monica. Like in years past, we've reserved the private back patio of the restaurant from 7-10pm. The cost for dinner is $35 and covers all food/drink/tip/etc. Due to capacity constraints at the restaurant, we can only fit the first 35 members who RSVP. It's a great time, and we've hit the limit every year, so RSVP with me when you can. A paypal link to pay for the event is below:

The Gamma Eta Alumni Association has teamed up with the USC PIKE active chapter to celebrate Founder's Day on Saturday, March 1st. The meet-up time is a happy hour at Traditions Bar on Campus from 3:30-5pm. Afterwards, dinner will be served at the PIKE house, followed by our 1st Annual Founder's Day Poker Tournament.
The entry cost for the tournament is $30 which covers dinner and a cash prize for the top 5 finishers. It's a casual tournament, so if you don't have any experience playing poker before- no problem. Come out for a few drinks and link up with Brothers you may not have seen in a while. We have to limit the tournament to 60 people, so RSVP with me if you plan on attending!
Also, as the Alumni Association has grown over the last few years, I've been in contact with a generation of USC PIKEs from the 1960's. They've expressed a lot of enthusiasm about coming out for the tournament as well, so for the first time, we'll have multiple generations of Alumni & Actives there to celebrate.

USC Homecoming 2013 v. Stanford
Brothers,
This Saturday's football game marks USC's Homecoming. We're expecting a good PIKE Alumni showing and are excited to see those who are traveling in from afar. We've worked with the active chapter to set up a joint Alumni & Active tailgate in McCarthy Quad, so make sure to stop by once you're on campus. Official tailgate start time is 1:30pm for a 5:00pm kickoff. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Hopefully many of you have already heard the good news: As of Saturday, we've officially signed a 3-year lease (with further options to extend) at the new Pike house at 700 W. 8th Street for 2013-2016. Look forward to some upcoming events during football season.
Also, Jon Langford is moving on as President of the Gamma Eta Alumni Association to serve as Chairman of the Housing Committee for the active PIKE chapter. He's been instrumental during the process of forming the GEAA as well as in signing the lease for our new house. If you get a chance, please extend your thanks for his efforts. I will be assuming responsibilities as President of the GEAA, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.

PIKE Alumni - Spring Event
On Saturday, March 30th at 1:00pm, the Gamma Eta Alumni Association has arranged for members to exercise their 2nd amendment rights at the Oak Tree Gun Club located just past the San Fernando Valley. Everyone is welcome to join regardless if you are a first time firing range participant, or a more serious firearms owner.
Please RSVP with me if you plan on attending. Additionally, there is an registration/waiver form we'd like you to fill out in advance so we can expedite the registration process. I will send this and more details out to those who RSVP.

Alex Engemann (Omega) has been kind enough to design Pike Alumni game day t-shirts! Below is a front/back graphic of the Gamma Eta Alumni Association T-shirt. You may have noticed a few of us wearing them at the USC-Oregon tailgate last Saturday. Al will be selling them at the PIKE tailgate (just south of the VKC steps) on Saturday for your enjoyment and for the good of the order. The shirts cost $20 and a minimum $5 donation to the GEAA, a total of $25. They come in all sizes. Please bring cash to the tailgate so we can rep Garnet and Gold for the game against Arizona State!

Excellent news, brothers! Your very own Gamma Eta Alumni Association has been awarded the William R. Nester Award for Alumni Association of the Year! Thank you to everyone who has made this another amazing year to be an 'SC PIKE alumnus.
Over this past weekend, Brother Brian Selogie '04 (serving in his new capacity as general counsel for the GEAA) and I represented the Gamma Eta Alumni Association and accepted this award on her behalf at the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity's International Convention. Held once every two years, the International Convention draws over 1,000 PIKEs from 230 active undergraduate chapters and 150 alumni associations. The host city this year was Denver, Colorado
Among other reasons, our association was lauded for its influence on the undergraduate chapter, rapid expansion of alumnus membership over the past year, consistency of successful social events, and mentorship of the undergraduate leaders. It was an honor to represent the good men of this Alumni Association as the GEAA was publicly recognized for its accomplishments.
We will be closing summer with an upcoming event - and you won't want to miss Trojan Football on-campus tailgates, coming soon!

PIKE Alumni - Pool Tournament @ Ques
The Gamma Eta Alumni Association is having a Pool Tournament/Mixer next Saturday, May 12th at Ques in Brentwood. We've booked the private upstairs pool table from 2-4pm. The cost to enter the tournament is $10 and we'll have pitchers/drinks for those entering the tourney. NBA Game 7's (Lakers/Denver, etc) are also on that day, so if you don't want to play in the tournament, please still feel free to swing by and hang out. Any guests are more than welcome!

The Active/Alumni Game Watch for the USC/Oregon game before Thanksgiving
was a great success. About 40 alumni & 40 actives filled the place to near
capacity. Good work. Thanks for coming out if you were in town. It was a
terrific follow-up to the successful *Annual Summer Social *in August at
Cha Cha Chicken.
The undergraduates initiated their newest pledge class last week, Alpha Mu
