MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION RULES
Manuscripts sent to the Metropolitan Tirana Journal of Science, Engineering, and Architecture (MTJSEA) can either be in English or Albanian. The manuscript must be typed in Times New Roman font as a Microsoft Word document. Page Setup: Margins-Mirrored, Top 4 cm, Bottom 3 cm, Left 3 cm, Right 3 cm, Gutter 0.5 cm; Layout: Header 2 cm (different odd and even), Footer 2 cm, Section Start Continuous, Page alignment-bottom, centered).
If the manuscript is in Albanian, the title of the manuscript is to be written first in Albanian, aligned in the center, bold, with a font size of 12. The title of the manuscript in English must be stated after a single space with a font size of 12 in the center and in bold.
The authors' names, the name of the current institution, and the e-mail addresses of the authors must be written with a font size of 12 and aligned left after the title of the manuscript.
There has to be an abstract of not more than 250 words with a font size of 12. For manuscripts prepared in Albanian, the abstract in Albanian must be followed by the abstract in English, or vice versa (if the manuscript is prepared in English, followed by the Albanian abstract). Below the Albanian and English abstracts, key words (in the main language of article, at most 5) are to be written.
Titles in the text are to be numerated with Arabic numbers (e.g. 1., 1.1,1.1.2...etc.) with a depth not more than 3. The main titles are to be in font size 12 in bold; the subtitles and the following are to be in font size 12 in bold.
The text must be written in single-spaced 12 font sizes. After each paragraph, there must be a single space, and the paragraphs are to be started aligned to the left.
Tables and figures are to be titled and numerated. Titles must be positioned above the tables (e.g., Table 1: Name of the Table) and under the figures (e.g., Figure 1: Name of the Figure). Tables and figures must be placed vertically (if the tables and figures are full-page size, they can be placed horizontally). Equations must be aligned in the center, and the numbers of the equations must be aligned to the right of the page in parenthesis.
Citations to the sources must be given in parenthesis in the text. The order in the parenthesis is as follows: Authors’ surnames (for the sources without author’s name, use the first three words of the name of the book, then insert triple dot), year of the source, page numbers (e.g., surname, date: page number).
All the sources cited in the text following the rules stated above must be given in the references, and sources that are not cited in the text should not be in the references. The references should be listed in the same order as cited in the text, according to Harvard referencing style.
Submitting the manuscript as organized according to the manuscript preparation rules is in the authors’ charge. The manuscripts will not be taken into the reviewing process unless they are presented in the appropriate text format.

REVIEWING PROCESS
Initial Editorial Evaluation: All manuscripts are verified for their originality using the originality detection software. Then all submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff, and only those papers that meet MTJSEA’s editorial criteria are sent for formal review to save time for authors and peer reviewers. Those papers judged by the editors to be insufficient, not original, not well presented, and not appropriate are rejected directly without external review.
Blind Review Process: After initial editorial evaluation, manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review by two anonymous reviewers. On average, the review process takes 3–4 months. The manuscript is accepted or rejected depending on the reviewers’ conclusion and the editorial decision. The reviewing results of papers are formulated as accepted/minor revision/major revision or rejected. Papers that were once rejected are not to be reconsidered. The common reasons for rejection are lack of scientific novelty, insufficient originality, or non-conformity to the scientific area covered by the journal. The authors receive notification of the editor’s decision and requests for revision by e-mail.
SUBMISSION FEE
There is a submission fee for the manuscripts directed to MTJSEA. It is 30 Euros for the first author and 15 Euros for second and other co-authors. The submission fee is used for miscellaneous expenses of the MTJSEA. The submission fee can be paid to the Metropolitan University of Tirana account with the IBAN number AL61 2101 1029 0000 0000 0178 8544 (EUR).
COPYRIGHT NOTICE
The acceptance of the article automatically implies the transfer of copyright to MTJSEA. Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that the same work has not been published (except in the form of an abstract), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that it will not be submitted to another journal while under review for MTJSEA, and that its submission for publication has been approved by all of the authors.
SUBMITTING THE PAPER
The manuscript can be submitted electronically on or before April 30, by e-mail to the address for July issue. Manuscripts submitted after this date will be considered for the next issue.
